Born in England in 1907. Arrived in Australia in 1909. He studied under Julian Ashton at Sydney Aart School, East Sydney Technical College and in Europe. He became an assistant to George Lambert in 1928 and held his first exhibition in 1933. He exhibited with the New South Wales Society of Artists and is represented in several state collections. This finely detailed work has excellent provenance. Bears label verso from International Art Center Of Roerich Museum, New York, exhibition 84, 31 January 1930.
