James Lawrence Isherwood is widely regarded as one of the best impressionist/expressionist painters Britain has ever produced. Born and bred in Wigan, he was an extremely prolific painter producing his best work between the late 50's and late 80's. His works are highly sought after and good examples are becoming increasingly rare. This is a fabulous large work depicting his home town of Wigan.
