Watercolour 68.5cm x 38cm, signed lower left & dated 1901.

Lived in London and Kingston on Thames. Known for his landscape work, particularly rural scenes featuring people going about their work in the countryside.  Exhibited widely with 21works at the Royal Academy, 113 at the RBA and also RHA, ROI and the Royal Institute. 

This is a beautiful work, painted in rustic colours, of the river Arun in Sussex.  A steam powered barge motors towards the imposing Arundel Castle in the distance.  Housed in a highly decorative period frame.
